EMPIRE / Report abuse

Report a site hosted on EMPIRE.

If a site built on EMPIRE is being used for phishing, malware, spam or counterfeit goods, tell us here. A person reads every report. You do not need an account, and you do not have to give us your name.

Abuse hotline — 402-206-4827 Call or text. If a phishing page is live right now and collecting people's passwords or card numbers, phone it in rather than filling out a form — it reaches us faster, and the person who answers can take the site offline while you are still on the call.

Report it

The more precise the link, the faster this goes. A full URL to the offending page is worth more than a homepage.

You can report anonymously. We will never pass your details to the site you are reporting.

What happens next

  • Phishing and malware go to the front of the queue, and we act on them the same day wherever we possibly can. These are the reports where every hour the page stays up costs somebody real money.
  • Everything else is reviewed by a person, usually within a couple of days. Some categories need a judgement call rather than a switch, and we would rather get those right than fast.
  • If we take a site down, it stays down. A removed site returns a clear removal notice and its owner cannot switch it back on from their dashboard.
  • If you gave us an email, we will tell you what we did. Including if the answer is that we found nothing wrong.

We do not publish the outcome of individual reports, and we do not tell the reported site who reported it.

Why we take this seriously

EMPIRE hosts customer sites on subdomains of our own domain. That means one person running a phishing page on something.empiresitebuilder.com can get every EMPIRE customer's site flagged by spam filters and browser blocklists — because as far as those systems are concerned, it is all one domain.

So this is not a formality. Abuse on this platform damages the people who did nothing wrong, and that is reason enough to move quickly.

What this page isn't for

  • A problem with your own EMPIRE site or bill. That's support, or 402-206-4827.
  • A dispute with a shop you bought from. Contact the shop first. If they won't respond and you believe they never intended to ship, report it here as fraud and we'll look.
  • Content you disagree with. We remove things that are illegal or deceptive. We are not the arbiter of opinions we dislike, and neither is anyone else with a report form.
  • Sites we don't host. If it isn't on EMPIRE we can't take it down — though tell us anyway if it's pretending to be EMPIRE, because that's ours to deal with.

For security researchers and blocklist operators

If you maintain a blocklist, run a threat feed, or have found a vulnerability in the platform itself, contact us directly rather than through this form:

Sites we remove for abuse return 410 Gone with a notice naming the reason, so a re-crawl can confirm the action rather than having to take our word for it. If you have listed empiresitebuilder.com over a subdomain we have since removed, get in touch and we'll walk you through what was done.

We will not threaten legal action against anyone who reports a security problem in good faith.

What we don't allow

The full policy is section 5 of the terms. The short version — sites on EMPIRE may not:

  • Impersonate a bank, retailer, government service or any other organisation to collect logins, card details or identity documents.
  • Distribute malware, or serve as a redirect or landing page for it.
  • Sell counterfeit goods, stolen goods, or anything unlawful to sell.
  • Take payment for goods there is no intention to ship.
  • Be the landing page for bulk unsolicited email or messaging.
  • Host content that sexualises minors. This is reported to the authorities, not merely removed.

Breaking these ends the account. We do not issue warnings for phishing.
